The Open Source Framework for learning in Social Virtual (Reality) Environments.
Social Virtual (Reality) Worlds are a great match for Learning and Development.
We help you design, build, operate and maintain them.
Open-Source Technology for every bit of learning
- The Virtual Classroom: Where you teach
- The Learning Record Store: Where you store the learning actions
- The Learning Analytics Platform: Where you analyse the learning actions
- The Learning Management System: Where you store and communicate the learning content
- The School / Learning Department Administration: Where you manage your learning institution
Use voice chat in Edorble to talk with your peers. Enjoy the stereo sound, ability to break into small groups, and gestures.
Use the screens and holograms in Edorble to display images, videos and external websites. Manage the content from your web dashboard.
VR, PC, Mac
In Edorble, some people can be in VR headsets, others can be on PC or Mac, and they can interact in the same world.
Publish your own 3D content to bring it into a collaborative, social VR environment. Use the best creation tools available.
What is Edorble?
Edorble started as a cross-platform application for Mac, PC, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift that lets you gather in 3D environments with your peers or colleagues. These environments let you use in-world web browsers, break into small groups, use gestures, and explore. You can either use our pre-made environments, or you or your students can use the Edorble Creator Tools for Unity 3D to design your own 3D environments (see next question).
Now we are transitioning to an open source framework for learning in XR.
Our framework aims to providing Technology & Implementation advice for every aspect of organizing learning in XR; The Virtual Classroom: Where you teach. The Learning Record Store: Where you store the learning actions. The Learning Analytics Platform: Where you analyse the learning actions. The Learning Management System: Where you store and communicate the learning content. The School / Learning Department Administration: Where you manage your learning institution.
Beyond Edorble, We also create custom 3D/VR applications for clients in the education/training space, and we offer in-person and online courses and professional development.
How do I use the Edorble Creator Tool?
The Edorble Creator Tool is a plugin built on top of Unity 3D, a free piece of software that we think is the best game engine in the world. You can download Unity 3D for free here
. We love Unity 3D because it lets you import 3D models created with nearly any 3D creation tool. So you can build a scene with Unity, but you can also import models from Sketchup, Sketchfab, Minecraft, 3DS Max, Blender, Maya, Tinkercad, and many, many more.
Once you download Unity and you've signed up to be an Edorble creator, we'll email you the plug-in you need. This will add a few buttons to Unity 3D that let you quickly publish your creation to Edorble, turning it into a multiplayer, 3D world. Click here

How much does Edorble cost?
It's free when self-hosted. We provide service plans to help you with that.
If you want us to design a custom build of Edorble with specific designs, features, or integrations, we also do that as a service.
If you plan to sell the software some of the software we build on, like Unity, have licensing rules you need to take into account.
Who is Edorble?
We are a team of teachers, developers, and artists who feel strongly that online learning should be more personal, playful, and powerful. Our mission is to help schools, teachers, students, and companies leverage 3D/VR technology for creation, communication, and collaboration. We hail from all over the world: Belgium, USA, Russia, Italy, and India. Besides working on Edorble, we also do custom 3D/VR development for projects in the education/training space.
